The Hilal Council of Canada received no confirmed reports of sightings of the new crescent. Therefore Wednesday March 25, 2020 is the 30th of Rajab,1441 and the 1st of Sha'ban, 1441 will be on Thursday, March 26, 2020 insha'Allah. 

Sha'ban has many merits. The Prophet 'alaihis Salaatu was Salaam used to fast most if notall of it and the 15th night has a special virtue on its own. With our current situation, it is of utmost importance that we increase our fasting, recitation of the Qur'aan, Dhikr of Allah, making Istighfaar (seeking His forgiveness) and most importantly abstaining from sin and disobedience. We pray Allah keeps the entire Ummah in His protection, remove this pandemic from the Ummah, give us Tawfeeq to do what is right and abstain from what is wrong and allow us to use this blessed month in preparing for Ramadhan, and doing as many good deeds as possible, 'Āmīn.
